Name the difference before the price. A cheaper item is not automatically an equivalent replacement.
Budtender practice · Unit 7 OF 8
Offer a short, honest comparison that respects the customer.
Try the first question before reading the lesson. Say your answer aloud or write it down, then open the explanation.
What makes an option useful to compare?
A clear product type, price and relevant label details, connected to what the customer asked for.
Use a simple comparison: what is the same, what is different, and what is still unknown. Start from the customer’s request and budget. Two clearly explained choices are often more useful than a long list.
Read the actual label and current price rather than relying on memory. Explain relevant special terms before the customer decides. If they ask for “the strongest,” clarify what number or product type they mean instead of treating a larger number as a better fit.

Your favorite brand has no matching report available and a competitor does. What is a fair comparison?
Keep preference separate from evidence. Explain what is available for each product and what is missing. Do not fill the gap with personal enthusiasm or a claim you cannot support.
Can you explain the answer in your own words, name one limit, and say what you would check next? If not, revisit the example or look up a word.
