Terpene pronunciation

Say it slowly: LIM-o-neen.

Limonene is a terpene name associated with citrus aromas. The name is a useful starting point, not a promise about how a product will feel.

Research note · · Study published in 2024

What did the study examine?

Twenty healthy adults took part in controlled sessions that compared vaporized THC, d-limonene, combinations of the two, and a placebo. Some combinations lowered participants’ reported THC-related anxiety in that study.

What can we say at the store?

The study does not show that a product labeled “limonene-rich” will prevent anxiety. It also does not show that every terpene blend will work the same way. Check the product label, separate an observed finding from a promise, and leave room for uncertainty.
